Lanosga wins title, Price finishes second at national high school wrestling championships

Spencer Lanosga

The National High School Coaches Association Wresting event took place in Virginia Beach, Virginia this past weekend and three locals fared extremely well.

Sophomore Spencer Lanosga of Jesuit, who won the Louisiana state title at 285 pounds in Division I, proved himself to be a top national level wrestler.

Lanosga captured the championship in the sophomore division, winning the title match 4-1 over Sebastian Lopez of Garden City, Kansas.

Glenn Price

Four-time Louisiana state champion Glenn Price placed second in the senior division. The Archbishop Shaw product advanced to the title match, falling 6-2 to Yanni Vines of Alabaster, Alabama.

John Curtis Christian freshman Anthony Smith finished fifth at 195 pounds in an outstanding showing.
