Lakeshore downs Gulf Coast Bank with new coach on hand

On the same day that Jacob Seward was named as the new head coach of the Lakeshore baseball program, he was present Monday night for the Titans at their Crescent City Sports Prep Summer League game at Noel Suarez Stadium.

The Titans showed their new head coach what their capabilities, defeating Chalmette-based Gulf Coast Bank, 4-1.

Zach Zielman was the winning pitcher, going four innings and Dylan Wertz picked up the save.

Gavin Stein tripled, doubled and drove in two runs to pace the Titan offense.

Jimmy Corley took the loss for the Owls.

Lakeshore (3-1) will play at Pope John Paul II today at 6:30 p.m. while Gulf Coast Bank (2-2) travels to Belle Chasse to take on Terry’s Oysters today.
