ROME, Italy – The LSU Lady Tigers will play their first exhibition contest of their foreign trip to Italy Sunday night against an Italian All-Star team.

The game is set for 6 p.m. in Rome at the Stellazzurra Sport Center in Rome at the Stellazzurra Basketball Academy and is the first of two games scheduled there on the evening. Following the LSU game, Kansas State will also play in an 8 p.m. game against the German TK Hanover squad. The game time is 11 a.m. Baton Rouge time.

The Academy hosts a series of games in August involving several men’s and women’s basketball teams. The K-State team played the All-Stars on Saturday night, winning 79-47. A second quarter in which Italy scored only nine points, allowed K-State to build a 37-19 lead at the half.

After two days touring Rome and Vatican City, the team will play the first of their three exhibition games across Italy against an All-Star team from the country.

Earlier, Coach Nikki Fargas told local media, “I have depth this year, and that’s awesome.”

Because of the overseas trip, the LSU women were allowed to practice in the days prior to departing.

“We’re so far ahead of where we usually are,” Fargas said. “…I’m very pleased with the progress of this group.”
