Lady Bleu Devils garner sweep of GCAC’s weekly volleyball awards
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Dillard’s Desire Neal and Chloe Young have now earned back-to-back GCAC Attacker and Defender of the week, respectively, with teammate Taylor Hurst joining them as the top setter in the conference.
Neal fronted the Blue and White’s rally to defeat Loyola-New Orleans in five sets, notching a team-best 17 kills (3.40 per set) and a hitting percentage 0.262 to dig the Lady Bleu Devils out of an ominous two-set hole.
Young totaled 21 digs for an average of 4.20 per set and also contributed two assists in the win over the Wolf Pack.
Hurst rounds out the terrific trio, nearly posting a double-double with 20 assists (4.00 per set) and nine digs (1.80 per set) to go along with two kills in the victory.
