RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech senior Jazlyn Crowder was named the Conference USA Co-Player of the Week Monday following her effort in leading the Lady Techsters to a perfect 4-0 mark this past week.

The Kennedale, Texas, native recorded 12 hits in 16 at bats for a .750 batting average with three doubles and one home run. She scored eight runs, totaled 10 RBI and was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases.

Crowder hit the game-winning grand slam with two outs in the top of the sixth inning in LA Tech’s 9-5 win over Grambling State on Wednesday, while going 3-for-4 at the plate with a career-high six RBI.

In Tech’s C-USA series against Charlotte, Crowder was 9-for-12 with three doubles. She registered her first ever four-hit performance in Sunday’s 10-5 win over the 49ers with three runs and three RBI. She had multi-hit games in all four contests during the week.

Crowder joins Morgan Turkoly and Lindsay Edwards as LA Tech players who have earned the C-USA Player of the Week award this year while both Preslee Gallaway and Krystal De La Cruz have both earned the league’s Pitcher of the Week award as well.

Crowder will lead LA Tech into Tuesday’s mid-week match-up against ULM at 6 p.m. at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
