LA Tech’s Bre Harris named LSWA Player of the Week

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech junior Bre Harris was named this week’s Louisiana Sports Writers Association State Women’s Basketball Player of the Week following her performances in the Lady Techsters road sweep at UTSA.

Harris averaged 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 71 percent (15-21) from the field, including 1 of 1 from the three-point line, and 60 percent from the free throw line.

The Mobile, Alabama, native recorded her first career double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to help lead the Lady Techsters to a 69-51 come-from-behind victory Friday night at the Convocation Center. She hit 8-of-13 field goals and her only three-point attempt in the win, while pulling  down four offensive and six defensive rebounds.

Harris followed up that performance on Saturday with a 16-points, 7-rebound effort in Tech’s 74-48 victory over the Roadrunners. She connected on 7-of-8 field goals and 2-of-3 free throws while playing just 16 minutes.

Harris will lead the Lady Techsters into this weekends home series against UTEP.
