Xavier Woods

RUSTON, La. – Fourth-year pro Xavier Woods set a season high with 10 total tackles in a loss to the Washington Football Team on Thanksgiving. The former Bulldog’s 10 total tackles rank as his highest total since the season opener in 2019 when Woods made 11 combined stops against the New York Giants.

Woods’ six solo tackles in Thursday’s matchup matched a season best set back the Cowboys’ first game of the 2020 season against the Los Angeles Rams. He also recorded his first official pass defended of the season, forcing an incompletion when Washington quarterback Alex Smith targeted rookie running back Antonio Gibson.

The former Bulldog played all 69 defensive snaps in Thursday’s contest, making it the 10th time in 11 games that he has played 100% of defensive snaps this season.

See how other former Bulldogs are contributing to their professional squads below. All stats are updated through Dec. 2.

Boston Scott, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Scott amassed 142 total yards in a 23-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Scott’s 95 yards on kickoff returns ranks as a career high, which included a return of 40 yards to set up a Philadelphia touchdown in the closing minutes of Monday’s contest. The former Bulldog also caught a season-high five passes, turning those five catches into 40 yards. Scott picked up his final yardage in Monday’s defeat with a pair of carries for 7 yards. The third-year pro has now topped 100 total yards in three games this season and has already set a new career high with 277 rushing yards in 2020. Scott has racked up 779 this season – 322 on kickoff returns, 277 on the ground and 180 from catching the ball out of the backfield.

Tramon Williams, CB, Baltimore Ravens

Due to injuries and players being placed on the injured reserve/COVID-19 list, Williams was thrust into a major role in Wednesday’s loss to the undefeated Steelers. The veteran cornerback posted season highs in solo tackles (three), total tackles (five) and hits on the quarterback (two). Williams laid a big hit on Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the second quarter, forcing the quarterback’s pass to fall incomplete. The former Bulldog has seven total tackles and two hits on the quarterback in three games this season.

Jaylon Ferguson, LB, Baltimore Ravens

Ferguson recorded five total tackles, including three solo stops, in a 19-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in an unconventional Wednesday afternoon matchup. The former Bulldog earned his first start of the season on Wednesday, recording his fifth hit on the quarterback. He has amassed two sacks, six tackles for a loss, five hits on the quarterback and a fumble recovery through 11 games.

Vernon Butler, DT, Buffalo Bills

Butler recorded two solo tackles, including his fourth tackle for a loss this season, in a 27-17 home victory over the Chargers on Sunday. “Big Vern” stuffed Chargers’ running back Austin Ekeler for a 1-yard loss in the third quarter. He made his second solo stop on Los Angeles’ final play of the game, stopping Chargers’ quarterback Justin Herbert from crossing the goal line from the 1-yard line. The former first-round pick has registered 15 total tackles, four tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a hit on the quarterback in nine games played this season.

L’Jarius Sneed, CB, Kansas City Chiefs

Sneed returned to the field on Nov. 22 for the first time since a collarbone injury forced him to sit out the past two months. After being eased back into action in Week 11, Sneed played 54% of defensive snaps in Kansas City’s 27-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 2020 fourth-round selection recorded two solo stops and an assisted tackle to finish the game with three combined stops. Sneed’s five snaps on special teams also set a new career high. Sneed is tied for third on the team with a pair of interceptions on the season.

Justin Ellis, DT, Baltimore Ravens

Ellis earned his second straight start in Wednesday’s defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not record a tackle in the contest. Ellis recorded season highs in solo tackles (three) and defensive snaps (58) in Week 11’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. The former Bulldog’s 58 defensive snaps also set a new career high in his seven-year career. The veteran defensive tackle’s role expanded in Week 11 due to injuries on Baltimore’s defense and Tennessee’s run-heavy offense.

Trent Taylor, WR, San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers used their bye week from Week 11 to get healthier on both sides of the ball, which helped San Francisco upset the Los Angeles Rams on the road. Taylor recorded 13 snaps on special teams, returning two punts for 27 yards. The former Bulldog has caught 10 passes for 86 yards so far this season. He recorded a season-best 29-yard reception on Nov. 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Amik Robertson, CB, Las Vegas Raiders

Robertson did not see game action in Sunday’s blowout road defeat to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The former Bulldog has four total tackles as a rookie. He made his NFL debut on Oct. 4 against the Bills.

Jeff Driskel, QB, Denver Broncos

Driskel was placed on the injured reserve/COVID-19 list on Nov. 26. The entire Broncos’ quarterback room was forced to miss Sunday’s game against New Orleans, which resulted in practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton serving as the emergency quarterback. Driskel has completed 35-of-64 passes for 432 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions so far this season. He’s also carried the ball six times for 28 yards on the ground in three appearances and one start so far this season.

Jordan Mills, OT, Dallas Cowboys

Mills joined the Dallas practice squad on Sept. 29. The former LA Tech offensive lineman played for the Cowboys in 2015 and has spent time with the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals during his seven-year NFL career. Mills has played in 90 NFL games, starting 48 straight games for the Bills from 2016-18.
