HAMMOND, La. – Three Lady Lions scored in double figures Saturday, but Southeastern Louisiana could not generate enough offense to overcome Kent State in an 81-60 loss to the Golden Flashes on the final day of the Akron Classic at James A. Rhodes Arena.

Southeastern (0-5) held the Golden Flashes (3-1) to just 2-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc, but Kent State out-muscled the Lady Lions on the boards (46-22).

Kent State’s free-throw shooting also proved to be a major difference as the Golden Flashes were 29-of-35 from the line.

Junior guard Ashailee Brailey paced the Lady Lion offense with a season-high 14 points, scoring in double digits for the first time this season. Freshman forward Caitlyn Williams added 13 points, reaching double figures for the fourth time in five games and falling one point shy of tying her career high.

Senior guard Taylin Underwood chipped in 10 points and brought down a team-leading four rebounds. Junior transfer Rhomyia Tate contributed seven points off the bench in six minutes of action.

Jordan Korinek was the driving force behind Kent State’s offense, pouring in 31 points on 9-of-13 shooting and a near-perfect day at the free-throw line (13-for-14).

Southeastern continues its seven-game road swing after Thanksgiving. The Lady Lions face Bethune-Cookman at 2 p.m., Nov. 26, in a non-conference contest in Daytona Beach, Florida.
