Kae’Ron Baker’s historic game lands Louisiana Christian guard RRAC Player of the Week Nod

WACO, Texas – Following a game that saw him hit 1,500 career points while leading the Louisiana Christian University men’s basketball team to a win to open 2022, Kae’ron Baker was named the Red River Athletic Conference’s Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Baker, a graduate student guard from Navasota, Texas, put up 28 points in LCU’s 78-67 win over Tougaloo on New Year’s Day. During the second half of that contest, Baker became at least the third Wildcat player to cross the 1,500 career points scored milestone.
In the win over the Bulldogs, Baker was 11-of-19 from the field, hit three three-pointers, and grabbed five rebounds. While a five-time American Southwest Conference Player of the Week award winner throughout his career, this is Baker’s first such honor since LCU joined the Red River Athletic Conference.
Baker and the rest of the Wildcats (5-6, 0-0 RRAC) open their first season of Red River Athletic Conference play on Thursday when Our Lady of the Lake comes to Pineville. Tip-off of Thursday’s game against the Saints (5-6, 0-1 RRAC) is set for 7:30 P.M., or about 25 minutes following the end of the women’s game, at H.O. West Fieldhouse.
