Former LSU and Destrehan wide receiver Justin Jefferson made NFL history Sunday. He now has the most receiving yards ever by a player in his first two seasons.

The Minnesota Vikings star surpassed the record of another local product, former LSU and Newman standout Odell Beckham Jr. who set the previous mark in 2014-’15 with the New York Giants.

Ironically, Beckham and the Los Angeles Rams defeated Minnesota during the game where Jefferson broke his record. Beckham, who managed 2,755 yard receiving in his first two pro seasons, had a touchdown grab in the 30-23 Rams victory.

Jefferson now has 2,851 career receiving yards. The 2020 first round pick tallied 116 yards on eight receptions Sunday.
