John Curtis Christian was supposed to play in the St. Augustine sponsored Nick Conner Jamboree this Saturday but that will not happen.

The Patriots thought they were going to play Carver at 3:30 p.m. Saturday but that is not going to occur.

“We made the arrangement to be in the jamboree in April,” Curtis said. “I don’t think anything was done intentionally. It is unfortunate in that there was miscommunication.”

Carver will be playing St. Helena at 5 p.m. after South Plaquemines meets Riverside Academy at 3 p.m. The finale is St. Augustine taking on Booker T. Washington at 7 p.m.

There is a chance that John Curtis will end up with an opponent on Friday, according to Curtis.

“We are hoping to finalize something by the morning,” Curtis said. “It would be terribly unfortunate if we cannot play to prepare for the season and it would be terribly unfortunate for our young men.”
