All week long J.T. Curtis told his players they could not relax. A 34-31 win over Parkview Baptist last year was a close call.

This time it wasn’t close. The Eagles cut the lead to 10 points twice in the third quarter, but John Curtis went on a 34-6 run over the final 18 minutes to notch an improbable 66-28 victory Friday night at PBS in Baton Rouge.

The final score left fans for Curtis (2-1) and Parkview (1-2) shaking their heads as the two option-oriented teams combined to score 61 second-half points after Curtis held a 25-8 halftime lead.

The Patriots move into district next Friday at Tad Gormley Stadium against Brother Martin.
