John Byington

He was a great player at Texas A&M before becoming a third round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers.

John Byington played seven seasons in the minor leagues, including part of three seasons with the New Orleans Zephyrs. He was a member of the first Zephyrs team in New Orleans in 1993, continuing with the club in 1994 and for part of 1995.

In 1994, Byington hit. 310 with nine home runs and 86 RBI in leading the Zephyrs to the American Association playoffs under Chris Bando.

Byington has been the head coach of the McMurry Warhawks in Abilene, TX since 2009.

A devout Christian and member of Beltway Park Baptist Church in Abilene, Byington and his wife Kimi have three children—a daughter, Raegan and sons Wade and Cason.
