The Division I playoff game between No. 8 St. Paul’s and No. 9 Jesuit has been approved by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the LHSAA, has now been scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at Hunter Stadium in Covington.

The game had been scheduled for 2 p.m. but the starting time has been moved back, due to weather concerns.

“We are very grateful for Jesuit’s cooperation in making this happen,” St. Paul’s athletic director Craig Ketelsen said. “Our kids are free from the a quarantine. It gives us time to evaluate them since they have been gone for two weeks.”

The Wolves did not play their regular season finale, due to COVID-19 issues and contact tracing and the self-imposed quarantine of its football players by the school ends Saturday.

The Blue Jays are 4-4 while the Wolves are 4-3. St. Paul’s defeated Jesuit 19-16 in the 2019 regular season at home. Jesuit won 34-24 over the Wolves in 2018 regular season before the Blue Jays beat St. Paul’s 21-17 in the 2018 playoffs as well.
