Jesuit, Parkview Baptist, St. Joseph, Episcopal top Louisiana Cross Country rankings

Jesuit is in a solid position as the top-ranked team among Boys Large schools in the new Louisiana Track & Field Coaches Association poll released Monday.

The Blue Jays received all 10 first-place votes while rival Brother Martin is second. Catholic of Baton Rouge is third with Ruston fourth and Parkway fifth. Holy Cross is sixth, Mandeville is ninth and Belle Chasse is No. 10.

St. Joseph tops the Girls Large schools rankings, receiving all 10 first place votes with Mount Carmel Academy second. Ruston is third with Vandebilt Catholic fourth and Byrd fifth. Dominican is sixth with St. Scholastica seventh.

Parkview Baptist leads the way in the Boys Small school rankings. The Eagles received seven first-place votes and edged out St. Michael by two points for the top spot. Episcopal is third with Newman fourth and E.D. White Catholic fifth. St. Martin’s Episcopal is tenth.

Among the Girls Small schools, Episcopal is the unanimous No. 1 team with E.D. White Catholic second and St. Thomas Aquinas third. Newman is fourth with St. Martin’s Episcopal fifth and Country Day sixth.
