Jesuit, Holy Cross take convincing wins on mat

Jesuit tuned up for the state wrestling championships next weekend in Bossier City with a convincing 69-12 dual meet victory over De La Salle.

The Blue Jays won five of the seven matches contested.

Winning by fall for Jesuit were Max Belsome (106), Jack Heslin (120), Keegan Spiers (126) and James Roniger (152).

Scoring a pin for the Cavaliers were Liam O’Connor (145) and Earl Reed (220).

Holy Cross also tuned up for the tournament with a 64-12 victory over Belle Chasse.

The Tigers won eight of the nine matches contested.

Scoring falls for Holy Cross were Landon Smith (120), Nicholas Sauerwin (132), Antwon Parks (160), Ethan Regis (195) and Peter Miller (220).

Winning by pin for the Cardinals was Armando Ramos (113).
