The New Orleans Jesters defeated Florida Roots FC, 2-0, Thursday night at Tommy Oliver Stadium. Maxi and Lucho Galizzi supplied the goals while goalkeeper Lamoy Graham recorded the team’s first shut-out of the season.

The Jesters opened the scoring in the 30th minute after forward Maxi Galizzi was brought down in the box. Galizzi took the penalty himself and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.

New Orleans doubled its advantage in the 55th minute with a nicely worked corner. The ball was driven to the back post for midfielder Tony Judice to head back across the face of goal. Lucho Galizzi met the cross and looped a header into the far corner to make it 2-0

Five minutes later it was almost 3-0 but Victor Domingues saw his curling strike bounce back off the inside of the post.

The Jesters stay in Florida this week to take on Tallahassee SC on Saturday night (7 PM, elevensports.com) as New Orleans looks to pick up another three points and some valuable momentum in NPSL play.
