The Saints made a trade Monday with the Philadelphia to acquire two-time Pro Bowl deep snapper Jon Dorenbos in exchange for a 2019 seventh-round pick, the Eagles announced.

Dorenbos is a veteran of 15 seasons including the last 11 in Philadelphia. The 37-year-old is also an accomplished magician who was a finalist in the television competition show America’s Got Talent in 2016.

The Saints re-signed Justin Drescher during training camp after Chase Dominguez, Thomas Gafford and Jesse Schmitt failed to impress while competing to replace him.

Following what appeared to be an injury during the Saints’ preseason win over the Texans this past Saturday night, Drescher was seen at the Saints facility in a walking boot Monday. He also did not grade out well during preseason games, according to Pro Football Focus:

The Saints do not have to make a roster move with Drescher until the mandatory cut down to 53 after the final preseason game Thursday against the Ravens in New Orleans. However, a move is expected Tuesday since the Saints were at the camp maximum of 91 players (90 plus the foreign exemption).
