Injury Report: Jameis Winston rests Wednesday, expects to play Sunday in London

Saints quarterback Jameis Winston plans to play in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in London.

However, the current QB1 for New Orleans did not practice Wednesday. Head coach Dennis Allen said is was a rest day for Winston, who also stated his intentions to practice Wednesday and suit up against Minnesota.

Winston is playing with assorted injuries, most notably four back fractures.

Four other Saints, all starters on offense were sidelined as well: Ryan Ramcyzk, Andrus Peat, Jarvis Landry and Michael Thomas.

Eight more Saints including Alvin Kamara were limited.

Minnesota’s first injury report of the week included four players sitting out practice. Not surprisingly, Dalvin Cook rested with a shoulder injury but the standout running back is expected to play Sunday.

The Saints and Vikings kick off Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 8:30 a.m. New Orleans time.
