It is another lost season for Michael Thomas.

The New Orleans Saints wide receiver was placed on injured reserve list. Head coach Dennis Allen told reporters at a Thursday press conference that Thomas will be having surgery on his toe. Allen said that the toe is dislocated and that the expectation is Thomas will miss the rest of the season.

Thomas, a former All-Pro, has only played two games this season after suffering another injury. He missed all of last year after needing ankle surgery. Thomas has already missed 31 games over the last three seasons, 34 including a playoff appearance and he will now likely miss the next nine games, increasing the games he has missed to 40.

It is a remarkable change of fortunes for Thomas. In his first four years in the league, he missed just one game, putting up record-setting numbers.

Help at the receiver position may be on the way though. Jarvis Landry returned to practice in a limited fashion Thursday. The former Lutcher High and LSU standout has been out of action since Week 4.

Mark Ingram and Marshon Lattimore were the two rostered Saints who missed practice. Ingram is expected to miss multiple games with a sprained MCL while Lattimore has not played since the Seahawks game on Oct. 9 with an abdominal issue.

Adam Trautman, Ryan Ramczyk, David Onyemata, Erik McCoy and Chase Hansen were also limited Wednesday.

New Orleans will face Baltimore on Monday night, and the Ravens will also be without their top wideout. Due to a Lisfranc injury that requires surgery, Rashod Bateman has been lost for the rest of the season.

The Saints host the Ravens at the Caesars Superdome on Monday Night Football.
