NEW ORLEANS — With Hurricane Harvey bearing down and a flash flood warning issued in San Antonio, Texas, Tulane volleyball will not travel to compete at the I-10 Cardinals Classic on Aug. 25-26. The tournament’s host university, Incarnate Word, canceled all athletic events in the best interest of the student-athletes and staff.

Tulane was originally scheduled to begin its season with three matches at the tournament on the campus of Incarnate Word in San Antonio. The first match of the season was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Aug. 25 against UTEP. The Green Wave then was to play a 5 p.m. match on Sunday against Incarnate Word, before playing UL-Lafayette at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Tulane will now play a doubleheader against UL-Lafayette on Friday at Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette, La. to start the 2017 regular season. First serve for the matches is set for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission for both matches is free.

Season ticket packages for the 2017 season are on sale now. Tickets may be purchased by logging onto TulaneGreenWave.com or by calling the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office at (504) 861-WAVE (9283).
