Jake Fraley

Here’s an update of regular-season pitching and hitting stats for many of the 2023 major-league and minor-league players who prepped or played collegiately in the New Orleans area and Southeast Louisiana. All stats are cumulative for the season, through Friday June 30. Below are some of June’s highlights.

Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman (LSU) had games with 12 and 13 strikeouts during the month. He leads the National League with 139 strikeouts.

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jake Fraley (LSU) continued to lead the team with 50 RBIs. The Reds currently lead the NL Central Division.

Cincinnati’s Ian Gibaut (Tulane) leads the Reds with 8 wins. He has the best win-loss percentage (.889) in the National League.

Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola (LSU) picked up three wins during the month and dropped his ERA by more than one point.

After missing a month due to a left shoulder injury, Wade Miley (Loranger HS, Southeastern) improved to 5-2 with a 3.02 ERA for the second-place Brewers.

Drew Avans (Southeastern) had a four-hit game on June 11 that included a home run and five RBIs. He totaled six home runs in June for the Triple-A division-leading Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Jake Slaughter (LSU) leads the Triple-A Iowa Cubs with 15 HRs and 58 RBIs.

Cole Henry (LSU) and Collin Burns (De La Salle HS, Tulane) came off the Injured List.

Landon Marceaux (Destrehan HS, LSU) was traded by the Angels to the Mets on June 24.
