The first game of a two-game series between Holy Cross and John Curtis Christian will take place as scheduled tonight, but the start time has been pushed back from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to get the field at Tiger Park ready to play.

John Curtis (17-3, 8-0), winners of 10 straight games overall, is unbeaten at the top of the Catholic League.

Holy Cross (18-7, 5-2) is second in District 9-5A. The Tigers have won four straight games since returning from a 10-day layoff for COVID-19 protocols.

“We are determined to get the game in and have been working hard to get the field in shape to do so,” Holy Cross coach Andy Cannizaro said. “Barring any further issues, we are looking forward to playing tonight.”

The second game of the series is slated for Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Harahan Playground.
