Holy Cross claims Dale Ketelsen Memorial Tournament

While Brother Martin is the defending state champion and favorite to repeat, 2017 Division II state champion Holy Cross remains perhaps the top threat to the Crusaders for the 2019 championship.

The Tigers were impressive in winning the 4th Annual Dale Ketelsen Memorial Tournament at St Paul’s on Tuesday, scoring 276.5 points to win it with host St. Paul’s second with 243 points. Division II power Teurlings Catholic was third with Archbishop Rummel fourth and Chalmette fifth in the 15-team event.

Holy Cross finished with eight individual champions, including Evan Frost (106), Jacob Frost (113), Michael Lundin (126), Brady Butler (152), Mason Macaluso (160), Cameron Frost (170), Caden Mumme (182) and Ryan Doody (220).

Teurlings Catholic had four winners, including Colten Sonnier (120), Charles Travasos (145), David Bernard (195) and Miles Santiago (285).

Peter Kelly of Catholic was victorious (132) and Peyton Ward (138) was a winner for St. Paul’s.
