Southpaw finished 2022 season at Triple-A Las Vegas

LAFAYETTE – Lafayette native and former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns pitcher Hogan Harris was elevated to the Oakland A’s 40-man roster, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Harris, who played for Louisiana from 2016-18 and was the No. 85 overall selection by Oakland in 2018, returned to the mound in 2022 after overcoming an elbow injury and posted a combined 2-4 record with a 3.42 earned run average with stops at High-A Lansing, Double-A Midland and Triple-A Las Vegas.

The southpaw struck out 105 batters in a combined 73.2 innings while making 23 appearances with 22 starts.

Harris notched a career 12-4 record with a 2.87 ERA in three seasons with Louisiana. In 153.2 innings pitched, Harris recorded 167 strikeouts with a .227 opponents average. In his final season in 2018, Harris recorded a 5-2 record with a career-best 2.62 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 58.1 innings pitched.
