Bienville founded New Orleans in 1718, we won the Battle of New Orleans in 1815, Audubon Golf Club was founded in 1898 (oldest in Louisiana) and in 2010 the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl. These are dates that will never be forgotten in New Orleans.

What a great win for our region, and I offer my sincere congratulations to the Saints for what they have done for our city and region.

I am honored to be selected to be the golf writer for New Orleans.Com. My mission is to promote, recognize and be part of growing golf in the New Orleans area. I want my blog to be your go-to spot on the web for news on upcoming golf tournaments, tournaments results, golf accomplishments, human interest stories, features on our area golf courses and talk about the history of our game. The story of golf itself is a true passion for me.

These 4 and 1/2 years have been difficult for golf In New Orleans. We know this all too well, but I am optimistic about our future. There are golf facilities that are still feeling the pain, and it is my hope to assist in bringing every golf facility back to prosperity.

We all have a responsibility to grow our game from the junior to the senior golfer and help us to be known as a golf city. This is a challenge, but I am ready to do my part and I know I will have the assistance of many who care as much as I do.

Please send me your information on upcoming tournaments you are involved in please include all of the contact information. This includes tournament results, hole-in-ones and anything you feel will assist us in growing golf in New Orleans. Plus, your feedback is important to me.

My e-mail address is pga1916@aol.com (a little note of history, the PGA of America was founded in 1916).
