Haynes handles Lusher, 46-6

Haynes Academy was limited to three offensive possessions in the first half. However, the Yellowjackets made the best of their possessions, scoring a touchdown on all three.

Combined with a pass interception for defensive score, Haynes led 32-0 at halftime en route to a 46-6 victory Saturday at Pan American Stadium.

Quarterback Josh Farley led the Jackets completing 20-of-26 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Preston Brown had six receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown.

Haynes took the opening kickoff and had a six minute, 14 play, 80-yard drive for its first touchdown.

Farley was 8-of-9 passing for 79 yards on the drive.

Two minutes later, the Jackets held Lusher on downs and began a two-play, quick strike drive.

Farley threw back-to-back pass completions to Brown, first 63 yards and second 9 yards for a Td. The lead moved to 16-0 with 1:05 left in the first.

A Lusher interception, led to Haynes’ third score.

Ten plays later, Farley threw a 14 yard touchdown as the scored moved to 24-0.

With the Lions driving inside the Haynes 30-yard line, Jacob Patron got his first of two interceptions for the Jackets defense. Patron’s interception was returned 75-yards for a touchdown. Patron’s second INT came midway in the third quarter.
