The Division IV state playoff game pitting No. 14 Hamilton Christian at defending state champion and No. 3 Ouachita Christian, scheduled for Friday night, has been canceled and the Eagles will advance as the Warriors had to pull out due to COVID-19 issues.

Ouachita Christian head coach Steven Fitzhugh got word late this afternoon.

“I just got word from their coach that they had a positive case within the team,” Fitzhugh said. “He regrettably had to cancel. They have been through a lot with the hurricane there. It is tough for their seniors. You cannot help but feel for them. They were practicing when they found out. They wanted to play.”

Ouachita Christian advances to the quarterfinals to face the winner of the Friday night game pitting No. 11 St. Mary at No. 6 Country Day.
