Hahnville’s Anthony “Pooka” Williams earns player of week honors

Hahnville senior running back Anthony “Pooka” Williams has been chosen as the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, CrescentCitySports.com and Friday Night Football Prep Player of the Week for Week four of the prep football season.

Williams rushed 26 times for 226 yards and two touchdowns and caught a pass for 45 yards in a 20-13 victory over arch-rival Destrehan. Coached by Nick Saltaformaggio, he will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Quarterback Club at Rock ‘n’ Bowl on Dec.12.

The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club meets weekly at Rock ‘n’ Bowl each Tuesday at noon and is open to all interested. The cost is $25 per person, with lunch served, with a cost of $20 for members. Annual membership is $50.
