Collin Zeringue

Two-sport standout Collin Zeringue has committed to play baseball at Nunez Community College.

The Hahnville product was the District 7-5A Most Valuable Player this past season and earned all-state honors as a two-way player.

Zeringue was going to attend Delta State to play football but has been released from that letter of intent to attend Nunez.

“Collin was our leader at the plate and on the mound,” Hahnville coach Dave Baudry said. “His biggest game was beating Destrehan in the district championship game. His ERA was very good and he had a few tough-luck losses. He always gives his all, is an outstanding player and a tremendous individual. I think he can play first base and pitch at Nunez. I really believe he can do both. I think his best days ahead of him as a pitcher.”

A three-year starter for the Tigers, Zeringue is playing American Legion ball for Gibbs Construction this summer.

Zeringue played tight end for Hahnville in football, earning all-district honors this past season.
