Always a force in softball, Hahnville is proving to be a definite contender for Class 5A honors in 2018.

Hahnville most recently played for a Class 5A state championship in 2012 after winning the 5A title in 2011 and reaching the title game in 2010. The Tigers have won two state championships in program history.

The Lady Tigers are a hot team. They ran their win streak to nine straight games with a pair of wins Saturday in Gonzales, downing Walker 9-5 before defeating Barbe 12-6.

In the victory over Walker, Kamryn Keller and Catherine Friloux each homered for the Lady Tigers while in the victory over Barbe, Baileigh Beaudoin belted a pair of home runs. Karly Taranto got the win in both games for Hahnville (9-2).

Hahnville returns to action Tuesday in River Ridge against John Curtis Christian at 5 p.m.
