With regular-season and championship events canceled for the remainder of the year, the LHSAA has released All-Academic teams, usually honored at state championship events.

The girls track and field All-Academic composite team includes 16 metro area student-athletes. Houma Christian had three members of its team selected: Koryn Barrett, Lauren Daigle and Alex McKeon. Archbishop Chapelle had a pair of honorees in Brenna Macaluso and Abigail McGowan.

Other selected from the area include Meghan McElroy of H.L. Bourgeois, Tessa Paul of St. Mary’s Dominican, Mariah Amugo of East St. John, Jordan Boullion of Fontainebleau, Kathryn Puckett of Ben Franklin, Kassidy Nielson of Franklinton, Najah Nicholas of Kenner Discovery, Elizabeth Latiolais of Mandeville, Kristen Guillera of Mount Carmel, Victoria Verberne of Jewel Sumner and Olivia Elfert of E.D. White.

To qualify for the All-Academic composite team, student-athletes must have a non-weighted 4.0 grade point average for their high school careers. The LHSAA also selects All-Academic class teams in each sport, which honors seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA.
