DIVISION I DIVISION II DIVISION III DIVISION IV

It was a very good day for teams from the north of Lake Ponchartrain in the LHSAA girls prep soccer playoffs Monday.

Four of the five in action advanced to the semifinals while the fifth fell just short of its goal.

In Division I, eighth seed Northshore made the long trek to Shreveport and shocked No. 1 seed Byrd 3-2 in an overtime thriller.

The Lady Panthers jumped out fast, taking a 2-0 lead at halftime before the Yellow Jackets rallied to tie it in regulation, setting the stage for overtime.

Northshore advances to the semifinals to battle No. 5 Acadiana.

Also in Division I, No. 3 Mandeville held off a late rally from No. 6 Dominican to win 3-2.

Aubrey Olin scored a pair of goals for Mandeville (23-3-3) while Jae’Lasha Julien added the third goal. Ella Goings and Stella French scored for Dominican (17-5-5).

The Lady Skippers built a 3-0 lead before Dominican came on strong but fell short. Mandeville advances to face rival, second seed and defending state champion St. Scholastica in the semifinals.

In Division IV, top-seeded Loyola Prep rallied past No. 8 Newman 2-1.

The Greenies took a 1-0 lead at halftime but the Flyers came flying back in the second half to pull it out.

Loyola Prep will face No. 13 Northlake Christian in the semifinals. The Wolverines overcame rival and No. 12 Pope John Paul II 1-0 in overtime.

In Division II, No. 2 Lakeshore whipped No. 10 Live Oak 4-1.

Kylie Milligan had a hat trick for the Titans, who advance to the semifinals to battle third seed Parkway.

In Division III, No. 4 Archbishop Hannan fell just short, falling 2-1 in overtime to No. 5 St. Louis Catholic.
