Girls Bowling: Defending champ Chapelle, Cabrini open with victories
KENNER – Reigning state girls bowling champion Archbishop Chapelle opened its season Thursday with a 21-6 victory over Mount Carmel at AMF All Star Lanes.
Mia Bella Harvey had a 523 series, including a 197 middle game, to lead the Chipmunks. Gabrielle Fischer finished with a 199 for a 494 set, while Elizabeth Hamilton, holding down the No. 6 position, had a 468 series.
Taylor Hunn opened with a 183 and had a 457 series to lead Mount Carmel (0-2).
Chapelle gets an early season test Tuesday against Academy of Our Lady at AMF.
Cabrini 25, Patrick Taylor 2: Also at AMF, the Crescents opened their season by easily defeating the Tigers.
Jaiden DeGeorge opened with a 191 and finished with a 466 series to lead Cabrini. Leah Heller capped a 425 series with a 165 final game.
Natalia Greenberg’s 117 middle game paced Patrick Taylor (0-2).
