Girls Bowling: Chapelle sets school record, stays unbeaten

Archbishop Chapelle fired a school-record 2,957 team series in a 25-2 victory over Kenner Discovery Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

The Chipmunks (6-0) got top-to-bottom production from their lineup, with all six bowlers averaging better than 150. Chapelle opened with a 1,044 team game in taking an 8-0 lead and never looked back.

Jessica Ladd led the way for Chapelle with a 552 series, which snapped a streak of four consecutive sets of 600 or better. Sarah Rubi had a 522.

Amanda Eberts led the Swamp Owls (3-3) with a 508 series, including a 213 game.

The Chipmunks face fellow unbeaten and defending state champion Academy of Our Lady next Thursday.

Salmen 18, Holy Rosary 9: At Bowling USA in Slidell, the Spartans improved to 3-2 with a victory over Holy Rosary.

Emily Floyd’s 421 series paced Salmen, which led 6-2 after the first game and 12-4 after the second.

Bailey James had a 171 game and 449 series to lead Holy Rosary (2-3).
