Girls Bowling: Chapelle remains perfect; AOL, Cabrini win

Archbishop Chapelle claimed all eight points in the first game and went on to a 23-4 victory over Mount Carmel in girls bowling action Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

The Chipmunks (8-0) showed their depth in the opening game as all six bowlers topped 145. All 10 bowlers on the roster bowled either one or two games, with Alexandra Young’s final-game 191 leading the way.

The Cubs (2-5) got a 212 middle game from Valeska Mora and a career-best 155 from Finley Mulcahy.

Academy of Our Lady 23, Kenner Discovery 4: The Penguins got strong efforts from the right side of their lineup in a victory over the Swamp Owls at AMF.

Laney Sasso opened with a 217 as part of a 572 series, while Skylar Alexander had an opening-game 200 and a 517 set to lead AOL (5-3)

Taylor Daniels led Kenner Discovery (1-5) with a 439 series.

Cabrini 24½, Slidell 2½: The Crescents won for the second time this week, defeating the Tigers at Colonial Lanes in Harahan.

Jennifer Luna led Cabrini (4-3) with a 482 series. The Crescents used all 10 bowlers on their roster.

Cydni Haynes’ 137 game from the No. 2 slot claimed one of the two full points for Slidell (0-6).
