Girls Bowling: Chapelle has record day in road win over Albany

Archbishop Chapelle broke a pair of state records in a 22-5 victory over Albany Thursday at Tangi Lanes in Hammond.

The Chipmunks broke the Louisiana single-game record with a second-game total of 1,197. That lasted barely a half-hour, when Chapelle fired a 1,224 final game to complete a state-record 3,431 series.

Jessica Ladd led Chapelle (4-0) with a 720 series on games of 198-264-258. Gabrielle Fischer had a 627 series, including games of 223 and 236.

Emily Carroll led Albany with a 624 series.

Chapelle broke the marks previously held by Central of Baton Rouge in 2016. The Wildcats had an 1,185 game and 3,372 series.

With Brother Martin’s boys state series record of 4,012 also set on Thursday, a total of four state records have fallen in the last week. Kelsi Stegall of H.L. Bourgeois set the girls series record with a 758 on Monday.

Cabrini 20, Salmen 7: At AMF All Star Lanes, the Crescents defeated the Spartans.

Cabrini (2-2) was led by Calley Chauvin’s 197 middle game and 472 series. Emily Floyd led Salmen (1-1) with a 192 opening game and 512 series, both career bests.

St. Therese 17, Chalmette 7: At Westside Lanes, the Phoenix defeated the Owls.

Kaylor Grimm led St. Therese (1-3) with a 378 series. Hailey Orso’s 127 opening game paced Chalmette (0-3).
