Girls Bowling: Chapelle has record day; Cabrini wins

Archbishop Chapelle topped one of its own state records in a 25-2 victory over Academy of Our Lady Monday afternoon at Westside Lanes.

The Chipmunks (5-0), in action for the first time in three weeks, opened with games of 1,053 and 1,166 for a two-game total of 2,219, 12 pins better than their record performance last season. Chapelle finished with a 987 for a 3,206 team series, the highest in the metro area this season.

Senior Sarah Rubi led the way for Chapelle with a 689 series on games of 206-247-236. Freshman Marissa Rinderle had a 603 series, including games of 213 and 211. Olivia Bares had a 212 and Madalyn Haas a 202 in the Chipmunks’ big middle game.

AOL (3-4) was led by Laney Sasso’s 495 series.

Cabrini 23, Kenner Discovery 4: The Crescents got identical series from their top two bowlers in a victory over the Swamp Owls at AMF All Star Lanes.

Calley Chauvin and Jaiden DeGeorge each fired 491 series to lead Cabrini (3-2-1), which led 7-1 after the first game and 13-3 after two.

Kenner Discovery (2-4-1) was led by Aislyn Adams’ 454 series.
