Girls Bowling: Cabrini gets key win; AOL tops Kenner Discovery
Cabrini entered the week ranked No. 16 in the girls bowling power ratings. With a second win in three days over Chalmette, the Crescents may have sewn up a playoff berth.
Cabrini topped the Owls 27-0 Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner to end the regular season at 8-4.
Calley Chauvin led the Crescents with a 466 series, including a 160 opening game. Harley Orso’s 152 opening game led Chalmette.
The top 16 girls teams qualify for the playoffs, which begin on March 25 in Baton Rouge.
Academy of Our Lady 18, Kenner Discovery 9: The two-time defending state champion Penguins will fall short of the playoffs, but finished the regular season with a win over the Swamp Owls at AMF.
AOL (7-5) won eight of the possible nine points at the Nos. 1-3 positions in rallying from an early 5-3 deficit.
Hailee Griffin led the Penguins with a 463 series that included a 177 final game. Laney Susso had a 459 set for the winners.
Callie Hebert paced Kenner Discovery (7-5) with a 486 series. Madison Lemoine had a 192 opening game and 482 series.
