Girls Bowling: AOL honors seniors, defeats Patrick Taylor; Mount Carmel tops Slidell

AOL senior bowlers

Academy of Our Lady honored its three seniors prior to Thursday’s match with Patrick Taylor, and the Penguins finished the day with a 25-2 victory over the Tigers at Westside Lanes in Harvey.

In the first of two matches between the West Bank schools in the final two weeks of the regular season, AOL (8-3) got big efforts from the two most experienced bowlers on its team.

Laney Sasso had a 598 series that includes a 210 opening game a 215 finale, while Skylar Alexander had a 509 series that featured a 216 middle game.

Isabelle Viviano finished with a 179 for a 449 series to lead Patrick Taylor (4-6).

Mount Carmel 19½, Slidell 7½: The Cubs defeated the Tigers at AMF.

Shelby Blalock’s 364 series was the best of the day for Mount Carmel (3-7). Gabrielle Howard had a 143 middle game.

Brenna Mackie closed with a 166 for a 406 series to lead Slidell (0-10).
