Girls Bowling: Academy of Our Lady, Chapelle remain unbeaten

Defending state champion Academy of Our Lady had big scores through its lineup in a 26-1 victory over Salmen in a neutral-site match Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

The Penguins (3-0) had series of 490 or better from five of its six bowlers as it rolled a 3,025 team series. Lauryn Hartsell closed with a 203 game for a 574 series to lead the Penguins, while Linzie Bladsacker had a 568 set, including a 214 middle game.

Emily Floyd opened with a 187 to score the lone point for the Spartans (2-1). She finished with a 452 series.

All of Thursday’s area matches took place at AMF.

Archbishop Chapelle 25, Mount Carmel 2: Jessica Ladd continued her hot streak with a 633 series to lead the Chipmunks (4-0) over the short-handed Cubs.

Ladd, who has three consecutive 600 series, opened with games of 249 and 215. Sarah Rubi had a 236 final game and a 563 set.

Taylor Hunn led MCA with a 515 series, including a 200 final game.

Kenner Discovery 20, Chalmette 7: The Swamp Owls evened their record at 2-2 with a win over the Owls.

Five Kenner Discovery bowlers topped 140 in the opening game as it opened up a 7-1 lead. The Swamp Owls closed out the match with another 7-1 edge in the second game.

Chalmette’s Allison Deffes had the match’s high series with a 523, including a 205 second game. Amanda Eberts had a 181 opening game and Tassie Cahill a 417 series for Kenner Discovery.
