Area Girls Prep Basketball Report for Friday, Feb. 1

KIPP-B.T. Washington downs Karr (Ken Trahan)

It was a tightly contested game from start to finish Thursday night.

In the end, KIPP-Booker T. Washington defeated Karr 41-34 at Karr.

The win was the fifth straight for the Lions.

The game was tied 11-11 after one quarter before the Lions took a 24-21 lead at the half. It was 31-28 after three quarters.

With the win, KIPP-B.T. Washington improved to 16-10. The Lions face a tough task at home tonight against two-time defending Division I state champion John Curtis Christian at 6 pm. The Cougars (16-12) saw their six-game win streak come to an end. Karr returns to District 9-4A action tonight at home against McMain at 6 pm.
