Girls Basketball: Haynes takes 43-39 win at Dunhan
Area Girls Prep Basketball Report for Wednesday, Dec. 12
Haynes continues to impress and make its mark as a team worthy of attention in Class 3A.
The Yellow Jackets went to Baton Rouge and edged Dunham 43-39 Tuesday.
Dunham led 7-5 after one quarter and 14-12 at the half before Haynes outscored the Tigers 17-9 in the third quarter to tame a 29-23 lead in the final quarter and held off Dunham for the win. The loss was the fourth straight for the Tigers.
Jade Martin had 14 points while Jerriel McNutt had 11 points for the Yellow Jackets (8-1). Laila Hampton led Dunham (7-7) with 19 points while Nia Marshall added seven points.
Haynes returns to action hosting Grace King Thursday at 5 p.m. while Dunham (7-8) hosts False River on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.
