Gauthier Amedee wins twice Sunday at Mid-South Regional, advances to American Legion World Series

Gautier-Amedee Mid-South Champions

Mission accomplished: Gauthier Amedee needed to win two games Sunday in the Mid-South Regional to advance to the American Legion World Series.

After beating Tupelo, Mississippi Post 49, 7-2, the Wombats blanked Bryant, Arkansas, 1-0 in the championship game at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

The Wombats will play the winner of the Northeast regional in a first-round game at the World Series at 1 p.m. Thursday in Shelby, North Carolina.
