Tulane, Fritz agree to contract extension through 2026 season
The Tulane Green Wave are not known for consistent football success but head coach Willie Fritz has been working to change that.
It appears he has a good chance to continue that work for the long haul.
Multiple reports Monday indicated Fritz has received a contract extension that will keep him at Tulane through the 2026 season.

After taking over the program in 2016, Fritz has made the Green Wave a postseason team and made history. After taking Tulane back to a bowl game for the first time in five years to cap the 2018 season, he did it again last year. The Wave won both of those bowl appearances.
The 60-year old Fritz is 24-27 overall at Tulane and 42-34 overall as a Division I head coach.
The extension comes after Tulane rallied in the second half this past Saturday for a season-opening 27-24 win at South Alabama.
