Franklinton High School is in the market for a new head football coach.

The school has announced that a search is underway to replace Jonathan Barber.

After discussing the state of Franklinton High School’s Football program, the school administration and Coach Barber have decided to move Demon Football in a different direction by seeking a new head coach. We appreciate the time Coach Barber has invested into the program. He is a former player and assistant coach and wants what’s best for our players. He also is an asset on the faculty at FHS.

Moving forward we will seek the most qualified applicant who will utilize the resources we have to develop players and maintain a successful program. We hope to make a decision on our next head coach following the LHSAA Football State Championships. Our plan is to have this coach in place when we return from Christmas Break.

Barber was promoted to full-time head coach in June of 2018 after serving 11 years at his alma mater on the coaching staff including two as defensive coordinator and a brief stint as interim head coach.

The Demons went 4-7 this past season with a Class 4A first round playoff loss to Lakeshore.
