Four homers, Gallen’s strong start lift Baby Cakes past Express, 9-2

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Baby Cakes starter Zac Gallen dealt another strong performance on Sunday afternoon working eight innings and allowed two runs on two hits for his third win in five starts. New Orleans hammered four home runs en route to defeating the Round Rock Express, 9-2, to win the five-game series at Dell Diamond.

Austin Dean led the way for New Orleans (13-10) with four hits including three doubles and a two-run home run. Gabriel Guerrero added a two-run homer of his own. Yadiel Rivera blasted a three-run bomb and Deven Marrero drilled a solo shot in the eighth inning.

The ‘Cakes scored early with a two-out double from Dean and followed by an RBI single from Harold Ramirez. In the third inning, a homer from Guerrero increased the lead. Gallen’s pitching performance held the Express offense without an answer.

GAME NOTES – The ‘Cakes had nine home runs last April have already 31 home runs this season.
