HAMMOND, La. – Former Southeastern Louisiana offensive lineman Maea Teuhema is the latest former Lion to claim an NFL undrafted free agent deal, as he received a rookie camp invitation from the New Orleans Saints.

Teuhema, a native of Keller, Texas, is the third SLU player to receive a camp invite this spring. He joins his older brother, Sione Teuhema (New York Jets) and Max Lyons (Seattle Seahawks).

Teuhema started all 11 games at left tackle in his lone season with the Lions. He was named first team All-Southland Conference and earned second team All-America honors from Hero Sports.

In his only season in Hammond, he helped Southeastern to a prolific season on the way to finishing 6-5 overall. Teuhema cleared the way for the Lions to rank among the FCS national leaders in rushing offense (283.1 ypg, 3rd), scoring offense (34.8 ppg, 12th) and total offense (428.1 ypg, 23rd).
