Former Rummel receiver Steven Dunbar signs with 49ers as undrafted free agent
After a fine career at the University of Houston, former Archbishop Rummel wide receiver Steven Dunbar has signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent.
Dunbar had 180 career catches for 2,430 for the pass-happy Cougars. As a senior, Dunbar was named honorable mention in the American Athletic Conference after snaring 76 receptions for 1,070 yards. He capped his UH days with a career-high 197 yards against Fresno State in the Hawaii Bowl.
The 6-foot-3, 202 pound Dunbar has ideal size for an NFL wideout but scouts feel he lacks deep speed.
