Former Riverside Academy guard Jared Butler thriving at Baylor

Jared Butler

Former Riverside Academy All State performer Jared Butler is flourishing for the nation’s No. 2 ranked Baylor Bears.

The 6-foot-3 sophomore helped Riverside capture three Louisiana state titles. As a senior, he averaged 27.4 points, 8.4 assists, 8.8 rebounds and 3.0 steals. He originally signed with Alabama in 2018 but transferred to Baylor.

The Bears are 14-1 with Butler as their point guard an dthird leading scorer averaging 16.9 points per game. He is also dishing out 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals.

Butler had game-high 22 points in Baylor’s 67-55 win over No. 3 Kansas. He also put up 22 early in the season against Villanova.
